Dear Mr. Secretary General Ban Ki –Moon In the context of the bloody oppression practiced by the Moroccan political regime against the sahraoui students in the Moroccan universities, there comes the event of murdering two sahraoui students (BABA KHIA AND ELHOUSSEIN LEKTIF) on Monday 01 December 2008 at 20:00 in the Moroccan city of Agadir as a result of being run over by a bus that belongs to the bus company SUPRATOUR with the help of the Moroccan authorities, which was present in the place. This violation is among many other violations that have been committed against the people of Western Sahara.
Taking in to consideration the objective circumstances and information’s relating to such violation ,particularly, the organized violation of the saharaoui students rights especially the right of movement, which is enunciated in all the international charters, decisions and customs ,it is clear that the Moroccan authorities was part of this killing ,which makes it reach the level of an organized killing. Through this killing, the Moroccan regime aims at oppressing the struggle of the sahraoui students in the Moroccan universities and sahraoui people’s requests for self-determination throughout a free, fair and impartial referendum under the supervision of the united nation and the African union. Dear Sir, The horrid killing that resulted in the death of the two sahraoui students ,BABA KHIA and EL HOUSSEIN LEKTIF,in the Moroccan city of Agadir ,and the wounding of MBAREK ELkkADI ( a student and teacher),and BENBOH ELKHARRACHI (another sahraoui student) both of which are still in the hospital under a deteriorating and serious conditions, in addition it the other horrid crimes committed against the sahraoui people since the Moroccan occupation of western Sahara represents a great shame on the part of state of morocco. Dear Sir, The international organization whose highest body you currently presides has no right to ignore this evident injustice practiced against the sahraoui innocent civilians, who did no wrong except that they asked applying the principles and human values guaranteed by the charter of the united nations peacefully and legally, particularly the right of self determination for the sahraoui people since it is mentioned in all the decisions of the general assembly and security council. Dear Sir, As sahraoui students in the Moroccan universities, while writing to you this very letter which includes our signatures, we draw your attention, along with the attention of the human conscience, to all the serious violations of the simplest human rights of the sahraoui people committed by the Moroccan authorities. We also request you to send an international committee for truth in order to accomplish a free and fair investigation on the circumstances of the killing of the two sahraoui students and present the killers for court. At the same time, we request you to work towards freeing all the sahraoui political prisoners in the Moroccan prisons, and uncover truth about more than 500 sahraoui detainees and 151 sahraoui was prisoners in the Moroccan prisons. We also request you to put an end to the violation of human rights in the occupied lands of Western Sahara quickly throughout expanding the powers of MUNERSO to cover protecting the sahraoui civilians from the oppression practiced by the occupation authorities. Dear Sir, The above mentioned serious violations wouldn’t have happened in the state of Moroccan had not continue to violate the international law , especially the right of self-determination and its constant attempts to ignore the right of sahraoui people to a free and fair referendum for self determination under the supervision of the united nation and African union. Finally, we hope all the best for you in your efforts to provide security and peace for our people in the occupied lands of Western Sahara.
