SUKAINA IDRISS kidnapped

Laayoune - Western Sahara (Not autonomous Territory) 01/10/2009 (IAJUWS) At 11:45 hours, the Sahrawi human rights defender SUKAINA IDRISS was kidnapped by the Moroccan occupying forces, without her current whereabouts are know.

At 11:30 am, when SUKAINA IDRISS, accompanied by two other Sahrawi women, was trying to move in vehicle from the occupied city of Laayoune to the occupied city of Boujador, they were intercepted by several police forces and secret police , who ordered them to deliver their papers, and extracted of the vehicle the known activist Soultana JAYA, informing them that there were direct orders from the Department of Interior of Morocco to detain her, and proceeded them to introduce her in a secret police car to blows and pushes.

The young women who accompanied her, have tried to learn the whereabouts of sukaina idriss, and the reasons for her detention without receiving any response by the police, informing to them in the central police station in Laayoune that she is not in their custody or detention. King’s Attorney (Prosecutor), Gendarmerie, Police, National Security Forces, military, law enforcement sources ... strongly deny that she is detained, and that this "is a question that comes from above"
