URGENT ACTIONS FOR THE SEVEN PRISONERS SAHRAWI ACTIVISTS

Seven detainees held in cells with special psychological and physical torture Sale (Morocco), Jan 17, 2010 (SPS) - The seven Saharawi detainees languishing in Sale prison, Morocco, since three months, were placed in cells of special psychological and physical torture, according to a statement by the Ministry of the Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad. Sahrawi political detainees Alisalem Tamek, Brahim Dahan, Degja Lashgar, Ahmed Nasiri, Yahzih Taruzi, Saleh Labehi and Rashid Sgair were put in these punitive cells, isolated and subjected to strict orders, cold and lack ventilation and lighting, intended to punish prisoners and revenge at them. It should be recalled; the Moroccan authorities had arrested the seven Sahrawi political prisoners at the airport of the Moroccan city of Casablanca on October 8, after returning from a visit led them to the Sahrawi refugee camps and liberated territories. We invite the international community to take action to demand the release of all Saharawi political prisoners, especially of the seven activists who are awaiting court martial.
